Inside My Baby in Bloom Baby Shower at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta
There are certain celebrations that stay with you long after the flowers are gone and the tables have been cleared. My Baby in Bloom baby shower at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta was one of those afternoons for me — intimate, emotional, and filled with the kind of joy that only comes from gathering with the women who have shaped different seasons of your life.
From the beginning, I knew I wanted the celebration to feel intentional. I did not want anything overly themed or performative. I wanted the afternoon to feel elegant. Spring florals, candlelight, layered textures, and thoughtful details became the foundation for the atmosphere we created.
Waldorf Astoria Atlanta was the perfect setting for the celebration. The property carries a quiet elegance that immediately makes guests feel cared for the moment they walk inside. The architecture, lighting, and service created an atmosphere that allowed every floral arrangement, tablescape detail, and conversation to feel elevated without becoming overwhelming.
As guests arrived, the afternoon felt less like a traditional baby shower and more like an intimate spring luncheon celebrating motherhood, friendship, and a new chapter of life.
The Inspiration Behind the Celebration
The phrase “Baby in Bloom” immediately resonated with me because it naturally mirrored the season we were stepping into — both literally and emotionally. Spring carries a softness that feels new. Flowers return. The light lingers longer. The weather grows warmer. Everything begins again.
Rather than focusing heavily on a traditional baby shower theme, I wanted the afternoon to feel simple yet sophisticated, timeless, and layered. Since I was having a boy, I wanted blue to be included, but not overpowering. It was important that every element of the shower worked cohesively together.
Every detail was designed to support the atmosphere rather than overpower it.
Why Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Was the Perfect Venue
One of the reasons I chose Waldorf Astoria Atlanta for the celebration was because the property understands hospitality at such a high level. For intimate gatherings, I believe the venue should support the experience rather than compete with it.
I have hosted many events at Waldorf Astoria Atlanta, and each time, the team executes beautifully. For such a special occasion, I knew I wanted to host the event somewhere every detail — from valet to service — would be handled effortlessly.

I also appreciated having several spaces to choose from. Ultimately, I decided on the Belvedere space. It was able to accommodate our group of 20 guests across five round tables while still giving us a private setting where guests could stay longer, enjoy the afternoon, and feel fully comfortable.
The Menu
I am not a buffet person — never have been, never will be. When you are hosting something that is meant to feel special, a plated lunch communicates thoughtfulness in a way a buffet simply cannot. The Waldorf Astoria team executed the menu flawlessly, and every course felt intentional, elegant, and beautifully paced for the afternoon.

The Details That Made the Afternoon Feel Personal
I loved that we requested books instead of cards. Two years later, I still read those books with my son and see the names of the people who signed them. It feels so special to have those memories preserved in such a thoughtful way.
I also loved that we were able to linger, catch up, and share stories. There is something incredibly rare about having so many women you love in one room — women who have known you through different seasons of life, from your teenage years to family members you grew up with, and even my husband’s loved ones who came into town to celebrate with us.
The gathering made me feel so loved. It was a beautiful reminder of the incredible tribe I have around me.
We did not focus on traditional baby shower games. Instead, we shared stories, laughed, connected, and everyone stayed longer than expected — which is always a good sign of a meaningful celebration.

A Few of Our Favorite Gifts
One of my favorite details from the shower was that we requested books instead of cards. At the time, it felt like a simple and thoughtful touch, but two years later, it has become one of the most meaningful parts of the celebration.
I still read those books with my son and see the names of the people who signed them. It is such a sweet reminder of the women who were in the room that day and the love that surrounded us before he was even born.
A few of our favorite gifts were the ones that felt personal, practical, and lasting — pieces that could be used, cherished, or remembered well beyond the afternoon itself. From books to baby essentials to keepsakes, the most special gifts were the ones that carried thought behind them.

What I Wore
For the celebration, I chose a look that felt soft, classic, and feminine without competing with the atmosphere of the room. Since I was having a boy, this royal blue felt like the perfect color. The fabric also stretched beautifully over my baby bump, making it both comfortable and flattering.
For spring entertaining and celebrations, I almost always gravitate toward silhouettes and fabrics that feel timeless rather than overly trend-focused.
