An Evening at Kyma with the Eating With Erica Supper Club
Our first family-style Eating With Erica Supper Club dinner at Kyma in Buckhead
Atlanta has no shortage of incredible restaurants, but few groups have shaped the cityās dining landscape quite like Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. For decades, its restaurants have become places Atlantans return to for celebrations, business dinners, family gatherings, and memorable nights out.
Kyma is one of those restaurants. Our Supper Club dinners are typically plated. This time, however, we wanted the evening to truly feel like Greece, so every dish was served family style. Known for its modern Greek cuisine, seafood-focused menu, striking Mediterranean-inspired setting, and polished hospitality, Kyma has long been a standout in Buckhead. For our September Eating With Erica Supper Club dinner, we gathered there for an evening that celebrated everything the restaurant does so well: beautiful food, warm hospitality, thoughtful design, and the joy of sharing a table.
This dinner was also especially unique for the Supper Club because it marked our first family-style dinner. And it was a hit.
Sharing dishes across the table gave everyone an opportunity to experience more of Kymaās menu. Whatās more, it created a relaxed, communal energy that felt perfectly suited to the restaurant.

A Conversation With Chef Pano
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing directly from Chef Pano Karatassos. Chef Pano joined our guests during dinner and shared more about Kyma and Buckhead Life Restaurant Group. In particular, he spoke about the philosophy that has helped the group remain such a consistent presence in Atlantaās restaurant community.
We asked him what it takes to maintain that level of excellence year after year. His answer was refreshingly simple: put the customer first, remain consistent, and wake up every day with passion for the work. That philosophy can be felt throughout the Kyma experience.
Beautiful interiors and memorable dishes certainly matter. However, great hospitality is ultimately built on consistency, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to the guest.

Hearing directly from Chef Pano gave our guests an even deeper appreciation for the restaurant and the people behind it. It reminded me of our brunch at Buttermilk Kitchen with Chef Suzanne Vizethann.
The Menu: Kyma Buckhead
Our first family-style Supper Club dinner could not have happened at a better restaurant. Kymaās menu naturally lends itself to sharing. Rather than each guest ordering an individual entrĆ©e, dishes moved around the table and everyone enjoyed a little of everything. Our menu featured several Kyma favorites, including Papou Panoās lobster morsels, grilled octopus, and tuna tartare. We also enjoyed a Greek-style ceviche made with European sea bass, preserved lemon, jalapeƱo, tomato, and mint. Meze, branzino, and chicken rounded out the table, along with additional dishes served throughout the evening.

The family-style format completely changed the energy of the dinner. As a result, guests compared favorites, encouraged one another to try dishes they may not have ordered on their own, and experienced the menu collectively. There is something wonderfully social about passing a plate across the table. The meal becomes less about one individual dish and more about the entire experience.
For Kyma, it felt especially natural. To pour, we enjoyed two crisp whites, Honig Vineyard & Wineryās 2024 Sauvignon Blanc and Henri Bourgeoisās 2025 Pouilly-FumĆ©. For red wine lovers, there was also ChĆ¢teau Greysacās 2018 MĆ©doc. Each was a beautiful match for Kymaās seafood-forward menu.

A Tablescape Inspired by Greece
The inspiration for our tablescape was simple: a beautiful evening in Greece. Rather than transform the space, we wanted the table to complement Kymaās Mediterranean architecture and atmosphere. It needed to feel as though it naturally belonged there. We built the palette around shades of blue and white. Down the center of the table, hydrangeas moved beautifully from deep blue to soft white. The flowers were arranged in petite blue glass vessels, allowing the table to feel abundant without overwhelming the space.

Floating candlelight added warmth. Meanwhile, fresh lemons placed throughout the setting brought in a bright Mediterranean detail that immediately connected the table to the restaurant.
The Place Settings
The Lenox Garden Grove dinnerware became the statement at each place setting. I love this pattern because it offers the elegance of traditional china while still feeling fresh and distinctive. The blue floral design complemented the white linens beautifully. Equally important, the delicate gold details and gold rims brought just the right amount of formality to the setting.

Gold-rimmed glass chargers layered over natural woven placemats added texture beneath the china and softened the blue, white, and gold palette. We completed each place setting with beautiful Lenox glassware. Our white napkins were custom embroidered in gold by Madeline Grace Embroidery with the Eating With Erica Supper Club logo.
What made the tablescape work so beautifully was how naturally it connected to Kyma itself. From the whitewashed architecture and Mediterranean details surrounding us to the blue hydrangeas, lemons, candlelight, and Greek-inspired palette on the table, everything felt cohesive. The finished table was elegant and transportive without feeling overly designedāa little taste of Greece in the middle of Buckhead.

Along with an incredible meal, conversation remains one of the most meaningful parts of gathering around a table. During dinner, we asked the women:
Who were you last year that you arenāt this year?
The responses opened the door to thoughtful conversations about growth, boundaries, priorities, and joy.
Some women shared that they had become more comfortable saying no. Others talked about establishing stronger boundaries, choosing to be less busy, or intentionally making room for more happiness in their lives. What made the conversation especially meaningful was that many of the women had only recently met.
Several guests took a chance on attending dinner with women they did not yet know. Without a doubt, by the end of the evening, new connections had already begun.

More than half of those guests are planning to join us again next month. That willingness to gather around a beautiful table, share a meal, and have genuine conversation is what makes evenings like this so special. If you would like to see more of our gatherings, revisit our Michelin-starred evening at Bacchanalia and our Galentineās dinner at Halās The Steakhouse.
