Can you believe in just a few days we are officially ushering in the New Year? This year has seriously flown by incredibly so fast that I can’t believe it. Every year I sit and make NYE goals for Eating with Erica both personal and professional; I also sit and make goals for my family, myself personally and a few other things. I used to self-reflect on the year and thing next year I need to do xyz – however, this year I taking a new stance on goals and I am celebrating New Year, Same Perspective. Here is why…

Every year as we sit down and make “resolutions” or goals of some sort for the new year, we often short change ourselves a bit. We start the New Year on a high and a new perspective but what is wrong with celebrating the New Year with the Same Perspective as last year? You see celebrating New Year’s Eve (NYE) from the same perspective as the year before helps refers to maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook while entering the new year. Instead of us thinking we need to have a better year (which you can still do while maintaining the same perspective) sometimes it is nice to reflect on everything that was awesome and want more of that perspective to the future. Not sure how? Here are a few tips I am using the proactive New Year, Same Perspective this year…

// Reflect on Achievements // Take a moment to reflect on the achievements and positive experiences you’ve had throughout the year. Celebrate your successes, both big and small. This reflection can reinforce a positive mindset as you transition into the new year. This past year some many awesome milestones were met for Eating with Erica both personally (like my son’s 1st birthday) and professionally (like the launch of the new EWE Supper Club) – some big wins , and some small wins- but I am heading into the New Year with a positive mindset and I can’t wait to see what great things are to come.

// Express Gratitude/ / Consider expressing gratitude for the good things that happened in the past year. Whether that is through a journal entry, a conversation with loved ones, or just a simple moment of reflection, try acknowledging the positive aspects of your life can contribute to a sense of contentment.

// Set Realistic Intentions // Instead of traditional New Year’s resolutions, which can sometimes be overly ambitious (and we fizzle them out after the first month sometimes), set realistic intentions for the upcoming year. Focus on positive changes you’d like to make in your life, and approach them with a mindset of growth and self-improvement.

// Celebrate with Loved Ones // Spend quality time with friends and family during the celebration. Surrounding yourself with loved ones can enhance feelings of joy and connection. Share stories, express gratitude for each other, and celebrate the bonds that bring positivity to your life.

// Create a Positive Atmosphere // Consider hosting or attending a New Year’s Eve gathering with a positive and festive atmosphere. Decorate with bright colors, play uplifting music, and engage in activities that bring joy. A positive ambiance can set the tone for a hopeful start to the new year.

// Embrace the Countdown // As the countdown to midnight approaches, embrace the symbolism of a fresh start. Use this time to release any negative energy or thoughts, and welcome the new year with open arms. Make a wish, set positive intentions, or simply savor the moment as you transition from one year to the next.

// Celebrate Achievements of Others // Extend your celebration beyond personal achievements by acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of those around you. This collective positive energy can create a sense of shared joy and optimism as everyone welcomes the new year together.
