When it comes to Fall, all I can tend to think is about is everything pumpkin spiced- please say I am not the only one, right? Keep reading as I share 5 ways to get skin ready for fall!

With temperatures dropping, many of us tend to start falling into dry, itchy, flaky skin. The cooler the weather, the drier we get (myself included). So not only is Fall the perfect time to transition our wardrobe but it is also the perfect time to transition our skincare regimen for a cooler climate. Curious how? Keep reading for my top 5 tips!

1 // USE A GENTLE CLEANSER

During the cooler months, you will want to start using a hydrating cleanser to help remove makeup, dirt, SPF, and basically the day from the skin. A hydrating cleanser will help ensure your skin is clean without stripping it from the necessary oils and leaving it feeling tight. A great one you can easily incorporate into any regimen regardless of skin type is the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – one part foaming, one part hydrating – this cleanser is perfect to help remove everything without leaving you feeling tight.

2 // ADD A HYDRATING MASK TO YOUR ROUTINE

Fall is the perfect time to break out those lovely sheet masks you have. Just put one on the skin, turn on your favorite tv show and 10-15 later you are ready without hydrated skin. Sheet masks not your thing? You can start to use more of a overnight sleeping mask as well for much-needed hydration. I promise you will wake up in the morning with soft, supple, and hydrated skin.

3 // USE A FACIAL OIL

Fall is the perfect time to add in a facial oil if you aren’t already using one. Not only do facial oils help lock moisture and hydration into the skin, they can also help give the skin some much needed nutrition. I like to apply facial oil as the last step in my skincare regimen during the cooler months as I find it really helps seal everything in. Too many steps? You can just add a few drops to your favorite moisturizer as well to get the same results in one step.

4 // SUNSCREEN IS A MUST, ALWAYS!

Cooler weather might mean not so sunny days, BUT it also means time to do more invasive procedure such as chemical peels. In order to do more invasive measures to the skin during the cooler months, one of the most important things to do- whether it is sunny, cloudy, overcast, raining, or snowing ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS wear your sunscreen. Think of this way- that pigmentation you want to peel off, you are going to need SPF protection to keep your new fresh skin looking healthy, and glowy. Trust me your skin and pocketbook will thank you in the long run!

5 // DON’T FORGET THE LIPS

Most people tend to slack on the lips, and let’s be honest- during the colder months that is when they need the most love. I am HUGE on conditioning my lips every single night whether it is with a great lip mask, aquaphor or just good old chapstick. Either way no one wants dry, cracked lips this holidays season do they?

So there you have it a few simple tips you can do RIGHT NOW to get your skin ready in time for Fall, as the weather gets cooler and crisp as the days get longer. What are some of your favorite ways to get your skin ready for Fall? Let me know in the comments below..
