What To Wear Sailing
While visiting Amelia Island, Florida, I had a chance to go sailing. I seriously believe that I was a mermaid in my previous life because I love the water. In my opinion, sailing in the summer is the best time to sail. The team at Windward Sailing were so courteous, and our sailing experience was superb.
Of course, when I heard “sailing,” I immediately thought about my wardrobe. For my day of sailing, I desired to look Instagram-worthy, yet, remain comfortable. I had been sailing previously, so I knew what to expect.
Now, typically, I am a white jeans and striped shirt kinda girl. However, after sailing, we had dinner plans, so I wanted an outfit that was transitional. I knew it would be breezy and windy, so I opted for one of my favorite straw hats that I knew could withstand some wind.
The most important thing while sailing is comfort. I couldn’t have selected a better dress. My red maxi dress was chic enough for dinner and comfy enough for sailing.
If you haven’t been sailing, I am going to share some of my tips to keep in mind when packing:
- You want to be comfortable while sailing because there may be some climbing up and down. I always recommend wearing comfortable clothes and wearing non-slip boat shoes.
- Be careful with selecting hats. Make sure the hat you select can withstand wind. While on our trip, sweet Ashley’s hat flew overboard.
- Make sure to bring a sweater or jacket because it does tend to get chilly.
While on our sailing trip, I loved all of the blogger babes’ outfits. They were definitely dressed for the occasion.
Happy sailing, friends!
