Dinner In Atlanta, GA: Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft
Located in the neighborhood of Buckhead, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Lof is a family-run business. Chef Dee Dee Niyomkul is incredibly talented and passionate about her craft, and she’s absolutely gorgeous. Chef Dee Dee uses original recipes used by her mother and grandmother.I have been dining at Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft since 2013 and they never disappoint.
Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft has received several notable accolades throughout the years and was named one of the top Thai restaurants in the United States by Travel + Leisure Magazine. They are also a Thai Select recipient. All are well-deserved to have on their resume.
Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft is a beautiful restaurant and offers the best patio for al fresco dining. I recently dined for supper, and I left with a happy and full tummy. The food was so divine, the meal left me dancing while I was eating. And everyone knows that food makes me do a happy dance.
I started my meal with a lychee martini, which was the ideal balance of sweet and tart. We started our meal with the appetizer Kanom pung Na kai. Kanom pung Na kai is a fried chicken and shrimp toast topped with cucumbers and red onions. The bread was coated in a batter with minced chicken and shrimp, deep fried.
We ordered two entrees: the massaman curry chicken and the salmon shrimp special. The massaman curry is the richest and mildest of all the curries with hints of cardamom and cloves featuring peanuts and potatoes served with Jasmine rice. Massaman curry is my favorite because it’s sweet and rich. The salmon and shrimp special was a combination of grilled salmon, grilled shrimp skewers, and basil rice. Everything was so light and excellent.
If you have not dined at Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft, you’re totally missing out. Make sure to visit this awesome establishment and stop by their new restaurant, Chai Yo.
