YP Meet and Greet: Chef Eli and Eating With Erica At The Luminary
Last night I had a great time hosting my YP Meet and Greet with Eli Kirsten, owner and chef of the The Luminary. Guests were treated to a three-course dinner with signature drinks and laughs to match. Eight lucky winners were selected and had the opportunity to bring a guest. And attendees had an opportunity to get to know Chef Eli and myself.
The Luminary is Chef’s Eli Kirshtein’s first new restaurant. The Luminary, is a french brasserie which is named after Atlanta’s historic first newspaper, is set to be an Atlanta’s favorite.
The restaurant is a renovated 1920s Stove Works Warehouse. Krog Street Market has so much culture dating back to 1889. Some major highlights of Krog City Market are:
1889 – The Atlanta Stove Works brought to Atlanta a revolutionary idea in the field of cooking – the Barrett Range – made of cast iron.
1935 – The Atlanta Stove Works was making approximately $500,000 per year.
1987 – The Atlanta Stove Works closed their doors after almost 100 years of being in business.
2006 – Tyler Perry purchased the land from Atlanta Stage Works for a reported $7 million.
2012 – The idea of Krog Street Market was born. Paces Properties purchased the space in October, with plans to transform it in to a mixed-use ‘epicurean center.
2014 – In August and September, the first three tenants opened their doors – The Luminary, Craft Izakaya and The Collective..

We discussed Chef Eli’s background, the exciting future of his restaurant, and the culture of Krog Street. I discussed my partnership with YP and my overall background of being an Atlanta food blogger.
The menu featured was nothing short of perfection. We dined on the following:
Bibb Salad
Thanks to the team at The Luminary for executing a great event. And thanks to YP for all of their hard work.
