IMG_2865Sunday, in my world, is a day of laughter with friends. Most people look forward to spending their day preparing for the week. I, however, am looking forward to lobster benedict, unlimited mimosas and spending time with my friends. Typically, each week, we find a new spot for a Sunday fun day, as we like to call it. This week, the brunch location was Red Sky Tapas in Marietta. I had previously dined there for dinner and really enjoyed myself. So I decided to stop back by for brunch. Red Kky Tapas offers a variety of options for an enjoyable Sunday brunch. With so many restaurants in Atlanta, you may wonder what makes this restaurant so special. Well, first is the menu. I am huge fan of tapas. I love a tapas menu because you get to try a little of everything. The second reason is the amazing unlimited mimosas for the great price of $14.00. And last but certainly not least is the food, of course. The food is delicious. It’s extremely fresh with plenty of brunch favorites and Red Sky Tapas signature dishes to choose from. I love when restaurants can take a classic item and put their unique twist on it. I also love the artwork throughout the restaurant. It is all hand painted, and some of the pieces are available for purchase. Red Sky Tapas just launched a sip and stroke with Canvas. What is better than art and wine? Nothing I can think of. This takes place every Tuesday evening starting at 7:00 pm.

Some of my brunch favorites and must-tries are:

Buffalo chicken and waffle: This tapas is the best of both worlds. The waffle is a hot, thick, sweet, Belgian-style waffle with sweet syrup. It is served with slightly spicy fried chicken tenders tossed in a zesty honey glaze. It was literally the best of both worlds. When I tried the dish, I made a little sandwich, and it was delish. You won’t be disappointed.

Lobster sliders and lobster benedict: I am a huge fan of lobster anything. So seeing the lobster slider and lobster benedict on the menu immediately sparked my interest. The handmade lobster sliders were a hit. The slider is topped with lobster cakes, lettuce, tomato and apricot beurreblanc served with seasoned fries. It was delish, and the fries are an excellent complement.

Blackened Ahi Tuna Salad: I wished I had this salad this summer with a glass of chateau Michelle Riesling. I would have been in heaven. I am a huge fan of ahi tuna, and I prefer my tuna rare. This salad has ahi tuna seared rare in a spring mix salad tossed with pico de gallo and pineapple soy vinaigrette and topped with a poached egg. I loved the poached egg and the vinaigrette

Cajun shrimp and grits: I know I am a foodie. And I take pride in trying new foods. No matter what restaurant I dine at, I must try the shrimp and grits. And I am very happy I tried the shrimp and grits at Red Sky Tapas. The picture doesn’t do it justice. The Cajun-seasoned jumbo shrimp are amazing. I could have eaten those alone. I love distinctive grits. The grits are parmesan grits with tomatoes, jalapenos, roasted red peppers and cilantro. It was one of my top three tapas.

Red Sky Tapas is the perfect location for a Sunday fun day brunch in the afternoon with amazing food and great service. If you haven’t been there for dinner, you must try their brunch. You will fall in love.
