If you are looking for a great steakhouse in Chicago with a wonderful ambiance, premium steaks, and unbelievable service, you have to visit Gibsons Steakhouse. While in Chicago, I decided that I wanted to experience a really good steak, so I chose to visit Gibsons, and it was one of the best decisions that I made! Gibsons has three locations in Chicago: Rosemont, Oak Brook, and Downtown. I dined at the Oak Brook location. The Downtown location has been around for over two decades. It’s no surprise that this steakhouse is a landmark in Chicago for amazing steaks! Gibsons has every aspect of dining, down to a tee. The menu provided several options to choose from and had a wide variety of steaks ranging from 10-ounce filet mignon to 26-ounce porterhouse. Their steaks are aged to perfection.
If you are not in the mood for a steak, you have several seafood options to choose from. The seafood selection has a nice range of choices such as Herb Crusted Skuna Bay Salmon, Pan Crusted Alaskan Halibut, and Australian Lobster Tail. But my mind was set on a nice, juicy steak. The presentation of the variety steaks is really mind blowing. The steaks are presented raw along with a 26-ounce lobster tail. Their steaks are also massive ranging from 19-ounce New York sirloins to 20-ounce USDA Gibsons Prime Angus Prime Rib. So if you love beef, this is the place for you. While at Gibsons, I ordered the 24-ounce Bone-in Sirloin, and my friend ordered the Cajun Tilapia and Crab. My steak was better than I had imagined. It was very juicy and one of the best tasting steaks that I had had in awhile. I also snuck in a little taste of my friend’s dish, the Cajun Tilapia and Crab.
The dish is a fresh-from-the-sea piece of tilapia on a bed of Basmati rice topped with Jumbo Lump Crab and Andouille Sausage. It was a good dish, but it wasn’t flavorful. The seasoning was very light and bland. As our sides, we ordered asparagus and mashed potatoes. Not only were the sides amazing, it was enough to share between my friend and I. So the sides, portion-wise, was more than enough. I had a great time at Gibsons, and I will return the next time that I’m in Chicago!
