Walking into Portico you immediately notice the gorgeous dining room. The glass windows give a sun room feel. When I saw the all-white dining room my first thought was that it would be ideal for a birthday dinner. The room has a lot of space and it’s beautiful. The glass windows overlook a nice view of the patio. The plush sofas look very comfy and the fireplace is going to be a sure go to spot in the summer. I really wished it was warmer outside when I dined. Because the patio area is very inviting. Portico serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. While ordering my drink, my server informed me the Master Barista Program launches this month. My server explained that The Le Méridien Master Barista program will boast a technical skill set required beyond making basic coffee drinks. Le Méridien Master Baristas will lead coffee-related initiatives and standards at each hotel, as well as serve as lead coffee cultural ambassadors. By the end of the year, there will be a coffee ambassador in place at all Le Méridien hotels, including Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter! What’s better than custom coffee drinks? Especially during these fall and winter months. As a coffee addict I am beyond excited about this program. There will be seasonal drinks available starting next month
Ginger Margarita at Portico
I started my meal with a ginger margarita. The drink was very smooth and full of flavor. Typically, flavored margaritas are usually made with fresh fruit. Using fresh fruits offers a refreshing, but not particularly strong taste. This ginger margarita was quite opposite. It was strong, but smooth, and the ginger flavor was a perfect blend with the Patron tequila. While looking at the menu the Fig and Prosciutto flat bread really caught my eye. The flat bread was topped with Herb Goat Cheese, Mizuna, Tupelo Honey, and Roasted Garlic. The way the ingredients were layered on the flat bread gave you a great taste of every ingredient used. The Tupelo honey is a mild and pleasant honey with a bright floral taste that went really well with the roasted garlic and goat cheese. The prosciutto had just the right amount of marbling. I could have stopped at the flat-bread, but I decided to try the seared scallops.

The Seared Scallops at Portico
The scallops are served on top of Bacon and Corn Succotash, English Pea Puree, Citrus Vanilla Emulsion. Succotash consists primarily of corn and lima beans or other shelled beans, although you can add other ingredients such as peppers or tomatoes. The scallops were cooked to perfection with a hint of spiciness. I was really full when it was time to devour my scallops so I couldn’t finish the last two. The food was orgasmic. Dessert was not an option-I was stuffed. Overall, I was beyond impressed with quality of service and my experience at Portico. In the future, I will highly recommend Portico for birthday dinners, first dates and anyone who wants a pleasant dining experience.
