Being a Georgia native and growing up in Gwinnett County, one of my favorite places to visit in the state has to be Château Élan Winery & Resort.  I have such fond memories of this magical place.  I experienced one of my first of age wine tastings, my first facial, and my fiancé and I had our first romantic getaway at Château Élan, which is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts L.V.X. Collection that represents renowned properties that features the finest accommodations, coupled with attentive, engaging, and exclusive personal service.

Château Élan is home to one of the most awarded wineries on the East Coast, a variety of delectable restaurants, 40,000 square feet of meeting space, a 35,000-square-foot European spa, 45 holes of championship golf, and a newly renovated golf clubhouse and tennis center, not to mention the award-winning wine.  Definitely add this memorable spot to your bucket list!

I recently was invited to Château Élan to attend the unveiling of Marc Bar & Restaurant, a Southern-inspired bar and chophouse situated within the resort’s 16th century-styled château and winery. Marc Bar & Restaurant features a curated list of wine, champagne, beer, and an exclusive assortment of inventive cocktails.  For those opting for no booze, you can choose from a selection of hand-crafted mocktails, including the Garden Lemonade or Vineyard Refresher.

The cuisine features hand-selected premium-aged steaks and Southern-inspired dishes, boasting both small and large plates, as well as desserts perfect for sharing or savoring alone.  Bites include everything from dry-aged ribeye with blue cheese port butter and seared sea scallops to sweet soy glazed mahi mahi with avocado butter, house-made pappardelle, and more.

I was really excited to see the new space, meet the chef and of course EAT. We started the dinner with a beautiful and refreshing cocktail and several passed apps such as:

Smoked Salmon Mousse Brioche

Pimento Cheese Crostini Bacon jam

Olive Tapenade Goat Cheese, Gluten-Free Cracker

We, then, had a chance to listen to a few words from new winery chef, Jarad Blanton, who brings more than 20 years of food and beverage experience to Château Élan.  Originally from South Carolina, Chef Blanton really impressed me with his passion for bringing the farm to table and working with local farmers.

Dinner was absolutely delectable.  The menu for dinner was fresh, unique and delicious. We enjoyed 5 courses of dinner with wine pairings. The menu for dinner was a follows:

Cheese Board

First course: Watermelon Salad Arugula Feta Peach Vinaigrette

Second Course: Braised Kurobuta Pork Cheeks Pepper Jelly, Farmers Cheese, Pickled Fennel

Third course: Shrimp and Grits Southern Succotash

Fourth Course: Filet Mignon Foie Gras Butter, Leek-Whipped Potato, Asparagus

Fifth course: Rustic triple berry tart Vanilla pudding, sautéed chambord berries

Whether you want to visit for a wine tasting with your girlfriends, have a romantic getaway for you and your beau, or just a dinner with fabulous wine, Château Élan is the absolute perfect destination for any occasion.
