TomorrowWorld 2015
Bright flashing lights, loud talented DJ’s spinning hot tunes, fairies twerking, and sheer, beautiful chaos equals “Tomorrow World”. This year was my first year attending TomorrowWorld. My experience was phenomenal; however, I was disappointed about Mother Nature ruining Sunday’s festivities. Despite the rainy and muddy conditions, my experience was not like everyone else’s.
There have been reports of pure horror stories, which I found surprising. This was an event in which common sense was imperative. It’s was so much going on, and it was very easy to get overwhelmed. And don’t get me started on the rain. Nevertheless, Afrojack, Armin Van Buren, Dimititri Vegas, Like Mike, and DJ Snake rocked the house and crowd. It was one of the best experiences. I have provided my tips for having a successful TomorrowWorld experience.
Next year, if you plan on winging it, don’t. What do I mean by that? Sometimes people think that when they attend events, especially an event such as this, if they’re attractive, their looks will get them into the event with no tickets, without any real connections, and no real plan. They winged it, and it was the ultimate fail. Do you really think that an event that lasts five days and hosts over 175,000 people from over 44 countries is just going to let you in on some ‘just because’? Save yourself the embarrassment and save the staff their time. Buy your tickets, or have a really, really, really, really good plan.
If you are on a time crunch, don’t go.
My friend Ashley and I left at 5:30 p.m., and we arrived at 7:15 p.m. The majority of that time, we spent getting lost because the address that we had was incorrect. The actual venue was in a place where the sign said no cars, not to mention frequent bathroom stops, getting stuck in the mud, and being briefly interviewed by CBS 46. Totally insane, I know! However, there was no rush, so we were completely laid back and worry free. Make sure time is not an issue and you will be fine.
Bring a friend that is completely okay with just going with the flow. 75 percent of why my experience was so positive at TomorrowWorld was because of my friend Ashely. We had no clear-cut plan on what we were doing or where we were going when we arrived. But it was awesome! Ashley was beyond laid back. She went with the flow, and she didn’t mind stopping with me to dance every time one of my favorite DJ’s started playing one of my favorite songs.
If You Get Lost From a Friend:
At one point during our exciting evening, Ashley and I got separated. My phone, of course, was dead, and I, of course, had her phone. It was nothing but sheer panic. I must have walked around over 200 times looking for her. A nice guy offered to assist her in finding me. She told him that I had on a green hat. Out of all the people in attendance, surprisingly, the guy noticed my hat and asked if she was looking for me. Sure enough, I was that girl. Make sure that you and your friends have a great plan of action in case someone’s phone dies if anyone happens to wander off from the group because anything can happen. And I can tell you that I don’t know anyone’s phone number by heart, and I’m sure many people don’t have cell phone numbers memorized because that’s the world we live in today. So it’s better to be prepared by picking a spot to meet up if you-all get separated.
Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty because you’re going to get dirty.
Due to the rain, the ground was extremely muddy. There is no real excuse on being a terrible dresser. However, I would strongly recommend that you wear an outfit that you don’t mind sarificing to the mud. You will see everyone wearing everything. From jeans to fairy outfits to jogging pants to underpants, you see it all. Wearing comfortable shoes is a must! According to my Fitbit, from 7:15 p.m. until
12:30 a.m., I took 19,755 steps. Comfort is absolutely key when experiencing TomorrowWorld.
Cashless Bar:
Ashley and I thought we were going to be smart by going to the ATM to get cash so that we would not need to use our debit cards. Huge mistake# Everything was cashless; every bar and every vendor was cashless! Of course, I was livid! I should have went to the TomorrowWorld website prior to attending. Thank God we had the option to obtain “pearls,” which allowed us to get drinks and food. Make sure to bring your debit card. It will save you a huge headache in the long run.
Memorable Experience:
No matter how you felt about the accommodations, how dirty you got due to the muddy environment, or if you lost something, TomorrowWorld is a memorable experience. It was so much fun. There is truly nothing better than being around free-spirited people who are really there to have a good time! Dancing, liquor, and incredible music! What else do you need?
Everyone is going to tell you something different about their TomorrowWorld experience. When it comes to venue, location, parking, et cetra, everyone is going to tell you something different. So reading and literally talking to random strangers is golden, and that’s exactly what Ashley and I did. Thank God it worked out in our favor. We parked. We took our shuttle. We found the entrance, and the night began!
What was your experience? And will I see you at TomorrowWorld 2016?
