The Perfect Apple Galette
If you have never had an Apple Galette before, it is actually SOOOOOO much easier than making an actual pie. An Apple Gazette is a french term that basically is equivalent to flat round or freeform crust like cakes.

- 1 sheet sheet store-bought puff pastry thawed
- 4 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- ½ cup sugar plus more for sprinkling
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 egg beaten- for egg wash
- 1 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
- Optional: vanilla bean ice cream, caramel cream sauce, brown sugar
Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll out the thawed puff pastry and transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
Arrange the apples on the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border. Fold the edges up and over the apples.
Brush the crust with egg wash, dot the apples with butter, and sprinkle with a little extra sugar.
Bake 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden and the apples are tender.
Cool a few minutes, then serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream and caramel cream sauce.
