Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Vodka Preferably vanilla-flavored or plain
  • 1 oz Peppermint Schnapps For a refreshing mint flavor
  • 1 oz Peppermint Mocha Cream You can use either store-bought or homemade – see instructions step 2 below for homemade
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur I like to use Kahlúa
  • Crushed Peppermint Candies or Candy Canes For garnish
  • Chocolate Shavings or a Chocolate Drizzle Optional for extra flair

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass: Start by getting your martini glass ready for a festive touch. Rim the edge with crushed peppermint candies. To do this, simply moisten the rim with a little simple syrup or water, and then dip it into the crushed peppermint. This gives the glass an extra bit of sparkle and flavor before the drink even touches your lips.
  • Make the Peppermint Mocha Cream (if you're making it at home): If you’re up for making your own peppermint mocha cream, here’s how:
-In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream over medium heat.
    - Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon of instant coffee granules, and 2 tablespoons of peppermint syrup (or peppermint extract if you don’t have syrup).
    - Stir until everything is smooth and heated through.
-Once it's ready, remove from heat and let it cool slightly before using it in your martini.
If you prefer convenience, feel free to use store-bought peppermint mocha cream instead.
  • Mix the Drink: Now for the fun part—mixing the cocktail! In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, peppermint schnapps, coffee liqueur, and your peppermint mocha cream.
Fill the shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want the drink to be well-chilled and the ingredients fully incorporated.
  • Strain & Serve: Strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass. If you want to add a little extra indulgence, drizzle some chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass before you pour in the martini.
  • Garnish: Top off your creation with a mini candy cane or a sprinkle of crushed peppermint for that perfect holiday garnish.
For an extra touch of decadence, feel free to add some chocolate shavings on top.
  • Enjoy! Enjoy and Prepare for your guests to ask for this delicious holiday martini recipe!
