- 4 pcs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- pcs garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup basil pesto
- 2 pcs ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, thickly sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- Pinch salt and paper
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
Lightly grease a medium-sized casserole dish and arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer.
Season the chicken evenly with salt and pepper, then sprinkle the minced garlic over the top.
Spread the basil pesto evenly over each chicken breast.
Layer tomato slices over the pesto, followed by thick slices of fresh mozzarella.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes for a lightly crisped top.
