Dinner In Greenville, SC: Foxcroft Wine Co. Greenville

Located in the heart of Greenville, South Carolina, Foxcroft Wine Co is one of my new favorite Greenville restaurants.  It truly is a must-visit.  Foxcroft Wine is trendy and sophisticated.  They offer stellar customer service from the moment you walk through the door.  You’ll fall in love with the vast variety of wines and champagnes from all over the world.

If you are a wine connoisseur like myself, you are going to adore this place.  You can have a private-dining experience, and they also have an outside patio.  And the interior decor is amazing and oh-so gorgeous.

Upon arriving, our server provided details about the menu. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.  You will be happy to know that Foxcroft Wine Co works with local farmers and purveyors for their menu.  This is why everything we devoured was so savory and flavorful.

I had an appreciation of how straight to the point their menu was.  It offers plenty of delectable classic options.  If you have any dietary restrictions, there will be no issues for you because this menu has something for everyone.

We started our menu with caramelized Brussels sprouts and hamachi tartare.  The caramelized Brussels sprouts were scrumptious.  They were roasted and tossed in a soy-chili glaze with onion and nuts.  This appetizer was an ideal combination of sweet, savory, zesty, and slightly salty.

Next up was the hamachi tartare.  Hamachi is a Japanese amberjack, or yellowtail fish, and are raised in a stress-free environment, allowing the fish to gain a high fat content, which results in a perfect buttery texture and a rich flavor.  I really enjoyed how light and flavorful this appetizer was.  The hamachi was chopped and tossed in a citrus vinaigrette with scallions, ginger, and served on a sesame cracker.

We had the toughest time deciding on entrees because there were so many great options.  But we finally figured it out after five minutes of deliberating.

For our entrees, we ordered the hanger steak and roasted mushroom flatbread.  The hanger steak was perfectly prepared to the requested temperature, and it had the perfect amount of saltiness.  The fingerling potatoes, guajillo purée, and baby carrots were excellent compliments to the steak.

Last but not least were the roasted mushroom flatbread. The flatbread was topped with mushrooms, almond pesto, pecorino, and arugula.  The portion size was larger than I had expected.  It was so filling and savory.  Everything was evenly portioned and nothing was overpowering.

Although so very tempting, we were too stuffed for dessert.  For wine over $30 a bottle, there is no corkage fee.  Wines under $30 a bottle, there is a $10 corkage fee.  The price point of Foxtrot Wine for the ambiance, quality of food, and service is impeccable.  There are three locations of Foxtrot Wine:  two locations in Charlotte and the Greenville location.  (There is a location opening soon in Waverly.)
