Coast Seafood and Raw Bar on Urbanspoon

If you are looking for an awesome place to dine with exceptional service and fresh seafood Coast is the place for you.  I am a seafood junkie. I am always looking for new restaurants with innovative spins on traditional seafood. I decided to stop by coast seafood & raw bar. Coast is located in Buckhead, across the street from the St. Regis hotel. Coast is under the Here To Serve Brand. I am huge fan of several of Tom Catererall restaurants such Shout, Twist and Catina. I knew Coast was going to be a fun dining experience.

The restaurant is a great size. It has a option for patio seating, and it has space for large enough for any special occasion.  The restaurant has super cute decor throughout the entire restaurant. One of my favorite pieces is the life size mermaid when you first walk in. Everything I read on the menu, looked like a good meal. I ordered everything on the menu. I really did. I couldn’t help myself and every thing looked amazing. Our server was really good. She was very attentive and extremely conversational.

I started with a crab crab cake appetizer, the peel and eat gulf shrimp, steamed mussels and calamari. The crab cake was served with sweet corn, tomato salad and green goddess sauce. The crab cake was pan seared and had very little breading. It was full of crab meat and very flavorful. Its close to impossible to mess up peel and eat shrimp. The shrimp size was a great portion for the price and the shrimp was fresh. The steamed mussels and the calamari were my favorite appetizers. The mussels where served a in a very rich garlic cream sauce and served with a piece of bread. I love mussels for those of who havent tasted mussels I can best describe the mussels as meaty but delicate in texture. Mussel are not chewy like a clam and not squishy like an oyster. They don’t have a fishy tasty and they are rather rich. I prefer my mussels in white wine, garlic, or lemon sauces. The calmari were large in size and they had a great portion. The calamari were severed with a smoked calamari and a malt vingar aoili.

For my entree I ordered the swordfish “au poivere” I dont know if you have ever tried swordfish.  I had no idea what the word au poivere mean’t. The word au poivere is french for with pepper, usually for a sauce or preparation incorporating crushed black peppercorns. The taste of Swordfish is very similar to tuna.  Swordfish has a very dense texture. The swordfish was served with goat cheese mash potato’s and garlic green beans. I would have preferred more seasoning because the flavor of the fish was a little bland but the dish was still enjoyable. I also ordered the lobster tail. The lobster tail was cooked to perfection. During the week the restaurant offers great specials such as $6 for a dozen oysters on Wednesday, on Sundays 1/2 price crab boils. I had a great dining experience at Coast. I will return and I would recommend it.
