This past Sunday I had the opportunity to attend the 10th Annual Frank Ski’s Celebrity Wine Tasting and Live Auction.  The event was hosted by Devyne Stephens, and several of Atlanta’s elite attended the event including Mayor Kasim Reed, Former Mayor Bill Campbell,Young Jeezy, Cynthia Bailey, and Peter Thomas.  I was so thrilled to attend because everyone knows about my love affair with wine, and because I am a huge fan of giving back to the community, especially children.

The event had amazing food ranging from lamb chops, short ribs, tuna tacos, BBQ pizza, and shrimp cocktails.  All the food was prepared by the super talented, Chef Sammy Davis.  And the desserts, which were heavenly, were provided by CamiCakes Cupcakes and Yum Yum Cupcakes.  And Skyy Vodka provided the custom cocktails.

The wine featured during the tasting was The Hess Collection, Silver Oak, and 2010 Opus One.  Although the food and wine was spectacular, my favorite part of the evening was listening to the teens speak about how the Frank Ski Kids’ Foundation has positively impacted their lives.  The proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will benefit student-athletes and provide a trip to Alaska for teens who excel in academia.

Several teens gave very heartwarming stories about how the foundation has taught them very valuable life lessons about how to never give up.  The event showed how Frank Ski Kids’ Foundation is a wonderful organization and how the teens truly benefit from it.  This event had fabulous food, spectacular wine, and overall, it was a successful and a wonderful event. I had a great time, and I look forward to next year’s event!
